The bodies of the saints tell their story: Labanof's investigations into Ambrose, Protasius, and Gervasius

In 2018, the Labanof team (Laboratory of Forensic Anthropology and Odontology of the University of Milan), led by Cristina Cattaneo, examined the bodies of Ambrose, Protasius, and Gervasius. Through multidisciplinary work, the scholars combined respect and method, faith and science, and managed to render the physical identities, histories, and even the faces of the three saints. This scientific and human adventure confirmed the data on the ancient Ambrosian legend of the two martyred brothers and the extraordinary similarity of the mosaic portrait of Ambrose in the chapel of San Vittore in Ciel d'Oro.
